Tory leadership vote news as it happened: Boris Johnson and Jeremy Hunt face off in digital hustings

Leadership rivals Boris Johnson and Jeremy Hunt have been grilled as part of a digital hustings hosted on the Conservative Party's social media channels.

The two contenders faced an hour of questions which were submitted by members of the public.

Mr Hunt, vowed to give full citizens' rights to the 3 million EU nationals living in the UK, even if Britain left without a deal. Mr Johnson took questions after, vowing to "wallop Jeremy Corbyn for six" in an election.

It comes after the pair clashed again over Brexit after a former civil service boss warned against making "straitjacket" promises to leave on Halloween.
