Totowa, Passaic only two Passaic County school districts with spring elections

In Passaic County, just two school districts still hold board of education elections in the spring — the city of Passaic and Totowa.

In Passaic, voters will be asked to approve a tax levy of $16.8 million for the 2022-23 school year.

Voters will also be asked to elect candidates for the three open seats on the school board. There are four candidates vying for the three spots: Maryann Capursi, Patricia Abril Barreles-Garcia, Craig Miller and Diomedes Minaya.

Miller and Capursi are incumbents.

In Totowa voters are also asked to vote on a $16.8 school tax levy for the 2022-23 school year.

There are three candidates running for the three open seats: Gary Bierach, Rose Marie Carr and Joseph Parlegrecco. Bierach and Carr are incumbents.
