Take a tour through the new Von Maur at Jordan Creek Town Center
Von Maur made its move.
The Iowa-based retailer, known for its chain of on-trend large-scale department stores, vacated its longtime Valley West Mall location earlier this week in favor of a new 140,000-square-foot space at Jordan Creek Town Center.
After a renovation, the new Von Maur stores sits in the shopping center’s former Younkers space. Des Moines-based Younkers closed in 2018 as part of a liquidation of Bon-Ton Holding Inc., the owner of the former Jordan Creek anchor.
Store representatives told the Des Moines Register that the Jordan Creek location is the Davenport-based retailer's third new location to open in 2022. The homegrown company built two new stores in Rochester Hills, Michigan, and Madison, Wisconsin, while another 118,000-square-foot location plans to open in Pittsburgh in fall 2024.
A number of changes and surprises are in store for customers who are heading to the department store for deals, steals, and designer favorites for affordable prices. Take a look at what is to come for customers and employees at Jordan Creek Town Center.
Expanded Clinique and Estee Lauder beauty counters
Beauty companies Clinique and Estee Lauder both have expanded beauty counters on the lower level of the building near the interior entrance by H&M in the Jordan Creek Town Center location. Beauty specialists are available to assist customers with questions, comments, and concerns in the section on the first floor of the 140,000-square-foot space.
Von Maur pours up boozy-themed gift section plus an expansive men's and children's shoes area
The store's lower floor men's section is complete with a men's and children's shoes section alongside a small gift area. The area features a bar section with boozy wine glasses, alcoholic beverage-themed gift options, boxes of popcorn, and plush socks from name brands such as Under Armour and Ugg.

Large-scale contemporary, juniors, and lingerie sections
The Jordan Creek Town Center location features a Juniors section with brand name clothing and a mossy living wall featuring fake grass, outfitted with a sign that spells "Be Kind to Yourself." The contemporary section features dresses, accessories, and outfits from Blank NYC, Nordic Beach, Steve Madden, and more. A large lingerie area, with bras and Spanx, is located in a corner of the store near the women's lounge.
Luxury handbags line the walls
Across from the toy section, dubbed Toyland by the Quad Cities-based retailer, sits handbags from Dooney & Bourke, Brahmin, and Tory Burch. Specialty bags showcased in cases include Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Marc Jacobs.

Women's lounge sits on the second floor
A woman’s lounge with a comfy couch, sleek tables and paired chairs sit in the spacious second floor space. A pair of large paintings of flower arrangements decorate the walls on the upper west side of the building. A women's sportwear section is wedged between the women's lounge and the gift section on the second floor in front of the escalators and elevator.
Holiday gifts and Christmas decorations are on display
The updated gifts space features Christmas and holiday decorations including ornaments, statement pillows, and home decor from high-end brands such as Kate Spade New York, Reed & Barton, and Swarovski.
Grand piano returns alongside escalators and elevator
The department store's classic grand piano, featuring a slate of rotating pianists, was moved from Valley West Mall to the Jordan Creek Town Center stop. The piano is located on the right side of elevator, which is sandwiched by two escalators in the middle of the store. The elevator at the Jordan Creek Town Center location is a departure from the elevator's usual placement near the customer service desks. To be transparent: one side of the elevator is encapsulated by glass, so riders can look out the windows at both floors of the store.
Gourmet snack shop offers gummies, chocolates, and other delicacies
A new gourmet snack shop includes sweet treats from Godiva Chocolate, Terrapin Ridge Farms, and Harry & David on the store’s upper level. Gummies, chocolates, and other delicacies are offered at the store between the home décor buildout and the gift area.
Women's and men's clothing sections offer diverse price points and styles
A men’s clothing section features a variety of options from sportswear to formal from brands such as Polo Ralph Lauren, Under Armour, and Von Maur favorite Ugg. Women’s formal dresses are near the store’s front entrance and an 18-room fitting room, the store’s largest for women, and a specialty group room for bridal parties and formal fittings. Women’s clothing continues on both levels of the store with an array of brand names for customers who prefer sportswear, formal, or fun outfits at diverse price points.
First-of-its-kind home buildout
The home décor build-out on the store’s upper level near the children’s clothing and home décor sections features an exclusive line of white-and-black mood design pieces, chic home décor and wares, and Ugg plush blankets. Store manager Tricia Moeller said the build-out is a first-of-its-kind detail in Von Maur department stores.
Children's clothing section and toys in one space
A children’s clothing section, with a large selection of clothes from upscale brands, features affordable prices. Toyland, the title of the Jordan Creek Town Center location’s toy section, includes games for children. Toys were scattered throughout the store at the Valley West Mall location. A jumbo T-Rex, automated toy cars, and a shelf featuring books are among the offerings for families.
