Town-by-town totals: Here’s how much snow fell in Massachusetts on Monday

A winter storm brought heavy snow to parts of Massachusetts on Monday, knocking out power to thousands of homes and businesses as wind gusts toppled trees and downed power lines in many communities.

More than 16K without power in Mass., 60K in NH after winter storm

After a snowy Sunday evening, the flip from rain back to snow happened Monday from the northwest to southeast.

Many towns saw at least 5 inches of snow, while some spots in Worcester County topped 7 inches.

As of 7 a.m. Tuesday, the National Weather Service’s latest reported snowfall totals were as follows:

  • Sterling - 7.8 inches

  • New Salem - 7.7 inches

  • Ashburnham - 7.5 inches

  • Princeton - 7.2 inches

  • Plainfield - 7 inches

  • Pepperell - 6.8 inches

  • Peabody - 6.5 inches

  • Ashby - 6.3 inches

  • Newburyport - 6.3 inches

  • Burlington - 6.2 inches

  • Leyden - 6 inches

  • Rowe - 6 inches

  • Lunenburg - 6 inches

  • Waltham - 6 inches

  • Rockport - 6 inches

  • Haverhill - 6 inches

  • Gloucester - 6 inches
