Toy Bowl games Saturday at City View Veterans Stadium

The 66th annual Boys & Girls Clubs of Wichita Falls Toy Bowl football games will be at City View’s Veteran Stadium Saturday, Nov. 19.

The Junior Varsity Championship features the Mustangs and the Leopards at 10 a.m. Then, the American League Championship will see the Leopards and the Mustangs at noon. Last will be the National League Championship at 2 p.m. with the Mustangs and the Bengals.

The Toy Bowl Games began in 1957, when Orville Ayers thought of the name and presented it to Graham Ball, then-executive director of the Boys Club. The program was meant to provide a fun and colorful ending to the football season for the teams. The program also assisted the Toys for Tots donation drive for the Marine Reserve. Ayers team won the first Toy Bowl Championship.

The City View Veteran Stadium has served as the home of these games since 2017, thanks to CISD.

Admission to the games is $5 for adults or four cans of food and $3 for students (ages 6-17). Children ages 5 or younger get in for free. All food collected will be donated to the Wichita Falls Area Food Bank.
