How Would You Configure Your Toyota GR Corolla?Toyota

The Toyota GR Corolla is inching closer to dealerships, and so, Toyota has put up the configurator for its hottest hatch. For us, the configurator serves two purposes—one, a fun time waste on a Monday morning, and two, a reminder that this car is an astonishing bargain.

Fully loaded, the "Core" edition costs $39,445. That includes the tech, cold-weather, and performance packages, which gets you limited-slip differentials at each axle. In other words, all the all-wheel drive performance car you could ever need for under $40,000. To us, this seems like the smart-money move, as the Circuit edition costs $43,995, and only adds different interior trim, a forged-carbon roof, a spoiler, vents on the hood, plus the option of gray paint. The roof is cool, no doubt, but the Core is all you need.

The ultra-limited Morizo Edition, which comes with shorter gearing, extra torque, forged BBS wheels, a different suspension tune, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, and a rear-seat delete is far more expensive. With destination, it's $51,420, and optioning matte gray paint raises the price to $52,640. That's a lot for a hatchback with no backseat, but we have no doubt Toyota will sell the 200 examples it plans to make.

Me? I'll go with the Core edition in "Ice Cap" white, with the performance and cold-weather packages. At $38,675, it's a hell of a lot of car for the money. So, how would you order yours?
