TPD: Argument leads to overnight shooting; 1 man with serious injuries, no arrests

A man was injured and hospitalized following a shooting at the Palmetto apartment complex Thursday morning.

Tallahassee Police Department officers arrived at the complex, 1561 Blountstown St., at approximately 2:31, and found "one adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds," read a TPD incident synopsis.

He was rushed to a local hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

"The preliminary findings indicate the victim and suspected shooter were in a verbal altercation just before the incident occurred," the synopsis read.

TPD spokesperson Alicia Turner said the shooting occurred in the complex's parking lot.

No suspects have been identified and no arrests have been made, as of Thursday morning.

There have been at least 79 serious injuries in Tallahassee since the new years, resulting in at least 52 injuries and 13 deaths, according to an analysis of gun violence by the Tallahassee Democrat.
