  • For Ross, skincare is all about “hydration, hydration, hydration.”

  • The actress has used this particular eye cream for years.

If a skincare product is loved by Tracee Ellis Ross—someone who is serious about self-care—it’s guaranteed to be a good one. The Black-ish star, 48, recently shared some favorites in an interview with Marie Claire, including her go-to eye cream for de-puffing and brightening dark circles.

After waking up her skin with luxurious creams and oils from Retrouvé and Biologique Recherche, the actress applies just “a little bit” of Yon-Ka’s Phyto-Contour Eye Firming Creme every morning.

She’s used it for years and has hyped it up in past interviews, including her 2019 “Beauty Secrets” video with Vogue. “I’m 46 years old and this stuff still looks pretty good,” she said at the time while applying the cream, referring to her skin.

For Ross, skincare and haircare (she owns her own hairline, Pattern Beauty) are all about “hydration, hydration, hydration,” she told Marie Claire. “Water is my favorite beauty wellness supplement. Extremely important. I drink so much water,” she explained, adding that she aims to drink at least six liters a day.

Ross doesn’t usually feel the need to wear makeup aside from when she’s on set. But if she has a particularly early call time, she’ll break out her chilled glass massaging globes—or as she likes to call them, “the blue balls,”—to further de-puff her face and eyes. “I keep them in the refrigerator,” she told Vogue. “I do this a lot of days at work when it’s really early and I just feel tired.”

Still, Ross says she feels her best when she’s in her most natural state. “I feel the most beautiful with clean skin—clean and hydrated skin, clean hair, and no makeup,” she told Marie Claire. “I spend money on my beauty products. I absolutely do. I work hard for my money, and I think that skincare and beauty care is worth buying really good stuff if you can.”

And she’s not the only one who thinks her eye cream is worth it. “It’s like Botox for your eyes,” one Dermstore reviewer wrote. “Been using this for over 6 years and absolutely love it! My go to eye cream!” another added. “Reduces puffiness, dark circles and moisturizes. Definitely recommend.”
