Jul. 7—Dakota Wesleyan University head cheerleading coach Traci Loecker has announced her resignation. Loecker took the helm of the DWU cheerleading program in 2013.

During her time at DWU, Loecker took on all responsibilities in managing sideline cheer for all home DWU basketball and football games. Duties included recruiting, managing budgets, fundraising, training, pep-rallies, team spirit activities and much more.

"We are extremely grateful for all that Traci has done for the program, department, and University over the years," DWU Athletic Director Jon Hart said in a release. "She brought a strong passion for DWU and worked hard to promote and support our teams in a variety of ways. Our cheer program is in a great position for continued success thanks to her leadership and dedication."

A national search is already underway for the next head coach.
