Track and field: Arlington takes Northern Counties boys team title, John Jay-EF wins girls

Smaller schools flexed their muscles in some events Sunday but, as might have been expected, the Northern Counties Indoor Track and Field Championships belonged for the most part to the area's giants.

Arlington, whose athletes won three individual titles and one relay, captured the Northern Counties (Dutchess and Putnam) boys team title during competition at The Armory in New York City.

The Admirals had 127 points, Ketcham finished second with 118, tiny Pawling was third (47), John Jay-East Fishkill was fourth (36) and Brewster fifth (31) out of 11 teams that scored.

With 10 schools scoring in the girls competition, John Jay-EF took the crown with 114 points, Ketcham was second (97), Arlington third (85), Carmel fourth (66) and Pawling fifth (38).
