Track Roundup: River Valley boys strong in field events.

UPPER SANDUSKY — If there was ever a doubt, there is no longer. River Valley's boys track team is strong in the field events.

Largely based on the effort that they did in the field, the Vikings finished third out of eight teams at Upper Sandusky's Gerald Swankhouse Invitational. RV scored 102.5 points to trail only Lexington and Bellevue.

River Valley swept to victories in all five field events. Grant Butler won the high jump at 5-10 and the long jump at 20 feet. Ethan Lyon took the shot put at 56-7 and discus at 158-3. Cooper Miller was tops in the pole vault at 13 feet. Also placing in the top six were Jared Slone in the shot put who was third at 42-6 and Mason Miracle in the high jump who was sixth at 5-2. Xavier Hensel, one of their top jumpers, did not participate.

Butler and Miller also contributed points on the track with Butler getting second in the 200 meters in 24.03 and Miller getting fifth in the 300 hurdles in 46.25. Gabe Douce won the 800 in 2:01.96, while Adison Babb was fourth in the 300 hurdles in 46.18, and Chase Osborne was fifth in the 3200 in 10:41.86. The 4x200 and 4x400 relays were both fifth in 1:36.51 and 3:49.72.

RV girls finish sixth

River Valley's girls track team saw three field event champions crowned at the Swankhouse as Eva Moran won the pole vault in 11 feet to tie the meet record, Madeline McFarland won the long jump at 15-4.25, and Lexie Stiverson won the shot put at 35-1.

Madison Ward was third in the discus at 97-7 and fifth in the shot put at 31-8. Also finishing in the top six were McFarland in the 200 in 28.98 for third, Jaxon Gilliam in the 100 in 13.75 for third, the 4x100 relay in 53.71 for third, the 4x200 relay in 1:52.93 for second and the 4x400 relay in 4:40.65 for sixth.

Harding girls get another runner-up

Marion Harding's girls track team has earned runner-up team finishes at a few meets so far this season, including at last week's Wapakoneta Relays. The Presidents scored 74 points to trail only Anna's 78 at the nine-team event.

The 4x100 in 52.19 and 4x200 in 1:51.79 were winning relays, while the 4x1600 in 26:19.22, the 4x800 and the sprint medley relay in 2:01.78 were second. The 4x400 in 4:28.64 and distance medley in 14:31.93 were both fourth. Individually in field events, Ayris Rich was tops in the high jump at 4-6 and Jule Kueppers third at 4-3, while Kueppers was fourth in the long jump at 14-11.25.

Harding's boys 4x100 relay wins

For the Marion Harding boys, the 4x100 relay won at Wapakoneta with a time of 45.29, while the 4x200 was third in 1:37.52, and the 4x1600 relay was fourth in 20:26.67. Also ending in the top six were the 4x800 in fifth in 9:32.99, the distance medley in fifth in 12:06.79 and the sprint medley in sixth in 1:42.92.

Cardington girls third at Hardin Northern

Cardington's Loey Hallabrin won the girls 800 in 2:42.78 and was second in the 1600 in 5:46.26 to lead the Pirates to a third-place finish behind Riverdale and Pandora-Gilboa at the Hardin Northern Invitational, scoring 55 points.

Others in the top six for the Pirates were Sage Whetnall in the high jump at 4-4 for fourth and 300 hurdles at 57.83 for fifth, Magi Hallabrin in the 3200 for fourth in 13:54.67, Morgan White in the 3200 for fifth in 14:08.69, Gracie Meade in the 800 for fifth in 2:54.58, Sophie Moloney in the long jump for fifth in 13-11, the 4x400 relay for fifth in 5:04.95 and the 4x200 relay for sixth in 2:06.39.

At the same meet, the Elgin girls were ninth out of 11 teams. Ending in the top six for the Comets were Abigail Seiter in the discus (third, 89-11), Delainy Boles in the long jump (third, 14-9.5), Madelyn Casey in the 400 (fourth, 1:10.32), the 4x200 relay (third, 2:03.01) and the 4x100 relay (fourth, 58.35).

Elgin boys sixth at Hardin Northern

Elgin's boys team scored 65 points for sixth place at the 12-team Hardin Northern Invitational.

The 4x800 relay scored a win for the Comets with an 8:47.68, and Ethan Marshall took a pair of runner-up finishes in the 1600 in 4:57.48 and 3200 in 11:11.77, while taking third were Kolby Wasserbeck in the 800 in 2:15, Isaac Dillon in the high jump at 5-8 and the 4x400 relay in 3:52.52. Kaden Thomas was fourth in the 100 in 11.89 and sixth in the 200 in 24.29, and Ronnie Newman was fifth in the long jump at 18-7.

For Cardington, Aidan Reitmore was sixth in the 1600 in 5:07.39.

Ridgedale competes in Danville

Ridgedale's tracksters went to Danville's Jim Proper Invitational. Gage Gleespen won the boys 110 hurdles in 17:32 and was third in the 300 hurdles in 44.53, while London Murphy won the boys long jump in 19-5.5. Evan Ricketts was third in the boys 400 in 54.94 and fourth in the 200 in 25.65, J.J. Slaughterbeck fifth in the boys 200 in 25.65, Brogan Weston second in the boys 3200 in 10:38.26 and fourth in the 1600 in 4:56.73, Mya Brown fifth in the girls discus in 67-4.25, the boys 4x100 relay third in 48.05 and the boys 4x200 relay fourth 1:43.9.

Highland runs at Bloom-Carroll Invite

Highland's Juliette Laracuente-Huebner won the girls high jump in 5-6 and long jump in 19-3, and Josie Tuiaga won the discus in 98-7, while Alexis Eusey was second in the shot put at 33-8.5 and third in the discus at 93-1.5.

Other girls in the top six for the Scots were Mackenzie Blubaugh (fourth 800, 2:45.11), Ava Fichtner (fourth, 100 hurdles, 17.97), Audrey Weaver (sixth, 100, 14.21), Lauren Garber (sixth, 300 hurdles, 56.32), the 4x400 relay (third, 4:30.1), the 4x100 relay (fifth, 54.88) and 4x800 relay (fifth, 11:21.29).

For the Highland boys, the 4x800 relay won in 8:34.71 as did Gavin DeBord in the high jump at 6-0 and Kieran Taylor in the pole vault at 12 feet. Finishing in runner-up spots were Hunter Bolton in the 800 in 2:05.3, Matthew Miller in the 3200 in 10:37.06, Toby Rogers in the 110 hurdles in 43.8, Joel Robers in the high jump at 5-10 and Darren Styer in the pole vault at 11-6. The 4x400 relay was third in 3:42.38 as was Austin Grandstaff in the pole vault at 10-6.

Other Scot placers for the boys were Gavin Hankins (fourth, 400, 54.13), Grath Garee (sixth, 800, 2:09.58), Roberts (fifth, 1600, 4:55.85) and Manuel Parsley (sixth, discus, 120-11).

Harding runs at Findlay quad

Findlay hosted Marion Harding, Elida and McComb in a quad meet, and the Harding girls won with 112 points. Winning events for the Prexies were Kueppers in the 100 hurdles at 17.61 and long jump at 15-5.25, Lydia Price in the 1600 at 5:57.06, Sophia Pedraza in the 800 in 2:43.29, Rich in the 200 in 28.98 and all four relays.

The boys were second behind the hosts. Winning for Harding were Trinity Keith in the 100 in 11.16, Carter Ferguson in the 800 in 2:16.96, 1600 in 5:00.72 and 3200 in 11:06.73, and the 4x100 relay in 44.54.
