Tractor Supply Co. celebrates grand opening in Perry with a ribbon cutting ceremony
The Perry Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for Tractor Supply Co. on Friday morning.
The ribbon cutting was held to welcome the business to Perry and the chamber network and to celebrate the grand opening.
“We want to thank you all for coming today, this has been a long time coming,” Perry Store Manager Tim Ackerson said. “The employees in this store have done an unbelievable job because we had a long way to go in the beginning when we got here in April to change this over.”
Tractor Supply Co. acquired Orscheln Farm & Home earlier this year and recently completed the transition. The Perry store’s grand opening kicked off on Wednesday and continues through Sunday.
“I want to welcome Tractor Supply to our community and recognize them for the smooth transition and the great look of the building inside and out,” Mayor John Andorf said. “We’re excited about partnering with you as a community and we look forward to that for a long time to come. Thank you and welcome to our community.”
Ackerson said the entire store has a new look, while featuring familiar departments like pet, tools, paint, automotive, paint and more.
“I’m excited that it’s finally come together, it’s been a long time coming and our team has worked so hard to make it look nice for the community,” said Heidi Riehl, assistant manager for the Perry location.
Tractor Supply Co. also presented $500 gift cards to a number of community organizations.
“We would like to thank you for all you have done for the community and we’re really excited to be your neighbors,” Riehl said.
Gift cards were presented to Perry Animal Clinic, Raccoon River Pet Rescue, Perry Community School District, Forest Park Museum and Perry Public Library.
“It was amazing to be able to give back to the community that’s given so much to us,” Riehl said after the presentations.
Ackerson encourages the community to come check out Tractor Supply Co. as Perry's grand opening runs through Sunday.
"Come in and see us," he said. “We’re very glad to be here in the community.”
