Tractor-trailer rear-ends truck on Route 222 in Spring Township
Feb. 26—A tractor-trailer rear-ended a flatbed truck and jackknifed Friday morning, causing a traffic detour on Route 222 in Spring Township.
The accident occurred about 6 a.m. in the northbound lanes at the Gouglersville exit, just before the Mohn's Hill Road overpass, with the truck blocking the road, police said.
No one was hurt in the crash, which is still under investigation, police said.
The names of the drivers were not immediately released.
The flatbed truck that was struck was carrying a load of mulch that spilled onto the road and had to be removed, police said.
Northbound traffic was detoured onto Mohn's Hill Road.
The northbound lanes were reopened by 9:15 a.m. according to the Berks County Department of Emergency Services.
