Tractor-trailer strikes four vehicles at Union County stoplight: Police

MONROE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A tractor-trailer collided with four vehicles in a crash on U.S. 74 in Union County Thursday afternoon, police say.

According to the Monroe Police Department, the incident occurred at the corner of U.S. 74 and Rocky River Road. The tractor-trailer reportedly hit one truck and three cars at the intersection’s stoplight.

Officers say two people from one car were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

The tractor-trailer driver was cited with failure to reduce speed and exceeding a safe speed.
