Tracy father, DACA recipient faces uncertainty due to visa delay

Hector Lopez of Tracy is a proud father, loving husband and has a strong sense of duty for his community. And up until almost three months ago, he was a community service officer for the City of Sunnyvale before he lost his visa. Being out of work, Lopez hopes lawmakers can come up with a resolution to help the tens of thousands of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals recipients like himself, whose lives are now on pause due to what Central Valley Rep. Josh Harder calls a "massive DACA backlog." When asked why he wanted to join the law enforcement field, Lopez said, "Serve my community. And it's a cliché, but being able to make a change."
