Because we are all human, we crave comfort food, and many times that isn't the most nutritious. Sure, a big apple with some nut butter might be your choice one day, but many of us cannot resist the allure of delicious pasta, gooey cheese, and melty chocolate. Nor should we! But that's where some nutritious food swaps, like this dairy-free Cashew Fiesta Dip from Trader Joe's, come in handy.

The dip has been around for a while, but I recently spotted it on Alix Turoff MS, RD, CPT's Instagram where she was sharing some of her favorite healthy foods from Trader Joe's. This baby was among the dips she chose, and for good reason! Trader Joe's Organic Creamy Cashew Fiesta Dip is made with cashews, potatoes, carrots, onions, green chili peppers, and other spices to create a queso dip experience without any of these cheese or dairy.

The dip comes in at just 30 calories and is perfect for using as a dip for anything from chips to veggies to simply a spoon. Vegan and non-vegans alike have given it a go since it's launched and have given it some pretty favorable ratings.

Even when people like Instagrammer Trader Joe's Kitchen confessed they weren't exactly a fan of the dip, others chimed in to suggested their own additions like more spices and some of the brand's salsas.

If you're someone who is vegan or just looking to consume less dairy, this can be a great party dip option. When in doubt...you can always add cheese!
