MELBOURNE — An accident with injuries shut down a section of U.S. 1 early Saturday night in Melbourne, police said.
Police responded to a crash on U.S. 1 between Cherry Street and Brevard Drive just before 6 p.m., according to a tweet from the department. Traffic was expected to be shut down in both directions for at least an hour.
Police said the crash resulted in injuries, though the extent of the injuries and the number of people injured was not immediately known. They did not say if the crash was fatal.
