New traffic signals on service road causing delays as part of study

New, temporary traffic signals on the Oceanic Drive ramp to eastbound U.S. Route 50 caused delays Friday afternoon as part of a four-day pilot project. SkyTeam 11 video shows traffic stopped on the ramp and approach to it. According to the Maryland Department of Transportation, the State Highway Administration is collecting and analyzing traffic data along service roads near the Chesapeake Bay Bridge in Anne Arundel County. From Thursday to Sunday, SHA crews will conduct a pilot ramp-management operation that involves a traffic signal at the end of the on-ramp from Oceanic Drive to eastbound Route 50. SHA officials said motorists should expect delays and traffic on the service roads.
