Traffic suspended as Ukrainian grain cargo ship runs aground in Bosphorus Strait
The Turkish Nene Hatun rescue ship, the tugboats Kurtarma-5, 8, and 9, and the vessel KEGM-8 were immediately sent to the scene.

A rescue operation is underway, the agency reported.
Local authorities said the vessel was en route from Ukraine to Istanbul under the flag of Palau and ran aground at 7.30 a.m. in front of the Beykoz Anadolu Kavağı neighbourhood, due to a rudder failure.

According to Anadolu, no casualties, injuries or environmental pollution have been recorded as a result of the incident.
Earlier, the cargo vessel MV Glory, carrying more than 65,000 metric tons of corn from Ukraine to China, stopped in the Suez Canal due to a breakdown.
