Trail Ahead Therapy opens on Pacheco Street
Sep. 12—Trail Ahead Therapy has expanded from one psychotherapist to 11 since founder Lucia Bisbee started the practice in Albuquerque in 2020, and on Monday she opened a 2,200-square-foot office at 2055 S. Pacheco St., Suite 500, in Santa Fe.
She describes Trail Ahead as a trauma-informed mental health practice "being conscious of the type of services you are offering [by] creating a safe space for people."
"A lot of times when you call an agency, their office is not set up to be a relaxing environment," Bisbee said. "Our team is so passionate about helping people. Every element has been considered, including lighting and furniture."
Trail Ahead launched as the coronavirus pandemic redefined social norms and had to adjust on the fly to this era's increased depression, anxiety, grief and post-traumatic stress disorder.
"Pre-pandemic, we were not going through a united and collective trauma, having to adapt to all of the isolation and changes happening in society," Bisbee said. "Our group specializes in recovery from complex trauma."
Alissa Blinder and Rhiannon Duke are the psychotherapists at the Santa Fe office.
