With the first-overall pick in the second round of the 2021 NBA All-Star Game selection process, Team LeBron James selects Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers.

The Los Angeles Lakers star and All-Star captain picked Lillard, who was named to his sixth All-Star game, during TNT’s live broadcast on Thursday night.

This is the third year LeBron has picked Lillard to join him on the Team LeBron All-Star squad.

It’s no surprise Lillard went off the board so fast. Many felt as if the Trail Blazer star had been robbed again of a starting spot in the West after averaging 29.4 points per game, which ranks fourth in the league in scoring, while adding eight assists for Portland.

Those numbers don’t even touch on Dame’s play in the clutch. In “Lillard Time,” the Blazers superstar has 92 points, good for second in the league, and is shooting 61.4 FG%, 60% 3P and 100 FT%, per StatMuse.

Why wouldn’t you want the coldest player in the game on your All-Star squad? Good pick, 'Bron Bron.

While Lillard had initially planned on participating in the NBA’s 3-point contest, he has since withdrawn due to “rest purposes.” The good news is he will have some of his Trail Blazers teammates with him on All-Star Weekend.

Anfernee Simons will participate in the high-flying NBA Slam Dunk contest after reigning dunk champion Derrick Jones Jr. elected to not defend his title this year. Robert Covington is also set to compete in the 2021 Taco Bell Skills Challenge.
