Good samaritan helps woman, dogs out of car before it is struck by train in Clark County

Crews responded to a train-and-car collision in Clark County Saturday evening.

Crews were called to the 1200 block of Fletcher Pike at 6:30 p.m. after receiving reports that a train crashed into a car sitting on the tracks.

A sergeant with Clark County Sheriff’s Office said that a car had broken down on the tracks.

A nearby driver helped the woman and her dogs out of the disabled car before it was struck by the train.

The car was pushed around 20 yards before the train could come to a stop, according to the sergeant.

No one was hurt in the collision and the train was not damaged, according to Ohio State Highway Patrol who is handling the crash.

Officers closed Fletcher Pike during this incident to investigate the scene and clear the car from the tracks.
