Transformer Blows in San Juan as Gusts From Tropical Storm Isaias Hit Puerto Rico

Heavy rain and wind lashed Puerto Rico on July 30 as a warning was in place due to Tropical Storm Isaias, according to local news reports.

This footage, shared by meteorologist Ian C Colon-Pagan, shows a transformer explode in San Juan as rainfall and strong winds hit the city.

San Juan’s National Weather Service said the storm was 100 miles west-southwest of Ponce, Puerto Rico, by 5 am local time with sustained winds of up to 60 mph.
