Transit workers protected from assault by new federal law

Federal lawmakers on Wednesday announced new measures to protect transit employees while on the job. Maryland's transit workers, who have been on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic for two years, are facing another kind of threat on the job: Becoming the victim of assault. On Wednesday morning, an event was held outside the Mondawmin Metro station, where transit worker Darlene Knox spoke as a survivor of workplace violence.
