Translate Keyboard Pro lets you type a message in your native language, translate it into one of dozens of other languages, and then send or post it, all with just a few taps. The app runs the text you enter through Google Translate, and you can also perform a reverse translation on sections of text or messages you receive.
81 Languages: Translate Keyboard Pro offers 81 different language options to translate to. The app also supports 30 source languages for entering text.
Quick processing: Translations are run through Google Translate and take very little time. That means you can have messages out there almost as quickly as you can type them initially.
Confusing interface: There is a brief video tutorial that you're prompted to watch when you first open the app, but it doesn't clearly cover all of the steps necessary to complete a translation through the app. That can make it a little confusing when you use the software for the first time. And we did encounter some difficulty getting the app to complete a translation on every attempt. Some just never appeared.
Limited functionality: The keyboard is slow to pick up your inputs. It also doesn't include spell check or autocorrect, and it doesn't capitalize automatically or switch back to letters after punctuation. It also doesn't support copy and pasting into the direct translation window, although you can use that feature to perform a reverse translation of a message you receive.
Translate Keyboard Pro is a good option for communicating with people who speak a different language, and it offers lots of options for the languages you can translate into. It could definitely use some polishing to improve functionality and increase the responsiveness and reliability of the keyboard, but it's a good start. Depending on what you want to use it for, it may be exactly what you need.
