Travelers rally late to stun Hooks in second game of doubleheader

Highlights: The Travelers rallied by scoring seven runs in the sixth inning to overcome a three-run deficit and stun the Hooks with their third consecutive win at Whataburger Field. Corpus Christi supplied a rally of its own behind Scott Schreiber, who hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the seventh to bring the Hooks within a run. But Ben Onyshko got Shay Whitcomb to fly out for the final out. Rhett Kouba earned the start for Corpus Christi and pitched 3.2 innings, allowing four hits with five strikeouts. Schreiber collected two hits and drove in five with a pair of home runs to lead the Hooks. Zach Daniels continued his strong start at the plate by hitting two doubles and drove in a run for Corpus Christi.

Spencer Packard and Robbie Tenerowicz combined for six hits to lead Arkansas, which finished with 11 hits. Corpus Christi cut the deficit to three after a two-run home run by Shay Whitcomb and an RBI groundout by J.C. Correa. The closest the Hooks got was in the fourth when Jordan Brewer hit an RBI groundout to make it 6-4. The Travelers added three more runs in the fifth to put the game out of reach. Zack Daniels and Scott Schreiber combined for four hits and Correa went 1 for 4 in his Double-A debut.
