Sunday afternoon and early evening are among the worst times for drivers to be traveling during the long Thanksgiving holiday weekend, according to AAA. This worst time is between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Sunday.

News Center 7′s Brandon Lewis spent time Sunday along a rest stop on I-75 in Monroe between Dayton and Cincinnati. He noticed traffic moving smoothly on that part of the freeway.

We spoke with some drivers who were traveling home Sunday.

“It’s actually not too bad because sometimes we go through during when it’s spring break time,” said Patti Nichols. “The traffic is really bad but we’re not finding it’s not as bad as what we envisioned it to be.

Nichols told News Center 7 she was traveling from Ohio to Florida.

Lewis says if you are still on the roads heading home Sunday night, a good would be after 8 p.m., according to AAA.
