Traveling around Martinsville for Thanksgiving? Here are some things you should know about the I-69 work

The project team has many reasons to be thankful this year. We’re thankful for the men and women who are helping keep the I-69 Finish Line project on track. We also want to thank drivers for their patience and for slowing down in work zones. Click here to watch a short Thanksgiving message from project and community leaders.

We’re also looking ahead with anticipation to the week after Thanksgiving. Crews expect to shift Ind. 37 northbound traffic across the center median north of the Egbert Road overpass. Ind. 37 will remain two lanes (one in each direction) for local traffic between Martinsville and Ind. 144.

Shortly after Ind. 37 traffic is shifted, the new I-69 Henderson Ford Road interchange will open fully in both directions. Drivers on both Ind. 37 and Henderson Ford Road should stay alert as traffic adjusts to the new entrance and exit ramps.

After the Henderson Ford Road interchange opens to traffic, Ennis Road access to Ind. 37 will close permanently and the temporary traffic signal will be removed. Click here to view a map of future access routes in the area.

Road and bridge work will pause on Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving holiday.
