Traveling or dropping someone off? Here's your guide to parking at the Wilmington Airport
Editor's note: Avelo has since announced 10 route changes, including suspensions and cancelations for flights out of Wilmington Airport.
More passengers from Delaware and the region are flocking to the Wilmington Airport as Avelo, the only commercial airline serving Delaware, transforms the Route 13 terminal into a busy airport.
Avelo Airlines recently announced it broke the Wilmington Airport’s record for most customers served annually, passing the 200,000 mark earlier this month. It’s also continued to expand its destinations, most recently adding San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Sarasota, Florida, to its ever-expanding list of vacation spots.

But serving a record number of customers also means finding ways to ensure that everyone gets to and from the airport effectively. Luckily, with only one airline and a handful of destinations, driving there is still less chaotic than larger airports.
But parking is limited at the airport, and spots cannot be reserved in advance. Rideshare apps like Uber and Lyft are recommended when possible.
There are also plenty of DART bus stops around the airport. The closest stop to the terminal is at DuPont Highway and School Lane in New Castle.
Here’s your guide to parking in and around the Wilmington Airport.
ILG parking
There are three lots directly on the Wilmington Airport site, all of which are first-come, first-serve and have a total of 820 spots.
Parking lots A and B are located near the airport’s terminal building and cost $9.50 per day. Parking lot C is located on the opposite side of the terminal building and costs $7 per day.

There is a separate section in between lots A and B for picking up passengers.
Passengers are allowed to be dropped off and picked up at the curbside in front of the airport terminal. Drivers are urged to wait in the complementary “cellphone lot” while waiting for their passengers per Transportation Security Administration regulations. Flight statuses can be checked online to time your drive as accurately as possible.
Avelo destinations
The airline has temporarily halted flights to Wilmington, North Carolina, and Greenville and Charleston, South Carolina, for the winter season. These destinations will be made available again in the spring. The route to Wilmington, North Carolina, will be available for booking starting March 14, 2024.
These destinations offer flights year-round, though Avelo clarified after the initial publication of this article that some routes have been suspended or canceled. (Click here for that update):
