Travis County sees less than 8% early voter turnout. Here's a breakdown of the data

Just under 8% of Travis County voters cast early ballots in the November election, which will decide the fate of multimillion-dollar capital improvement projects, 14 constitutional amendments and more, according to current Travis County election data.

Early voting in Travis County ended Friday. Polls will be open Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Results from most elections are expected to be known Tuesday night, but they won't be official until they are certified.

Here's a breakdown of the early voting data and how it compares with that of previous elections.

Breakdown of November 2023 early voting data

Numbers for early voting in this election are about 3% lower in Travis County than they were in the last off-year November election.

Of the 884,806 registered voters in Travis County, 70,064 (7.9%) voted early in this general election, and 95,243 of 849,679, or 11.2%, voted early in the November 2021 general and special election.

The November 2022 general election, however, saw a 52.3% turnout in Travis County. Notably, the November 2022 ballot had several candidates for local and state positions — including Texas governor, Texas attorney general and Austin mayor — and multiple congressional seats.

Where to vote on Election Day

The most popular early voting location, according to Travis County data, was the Ben Hur Shrine Center, followed by the Austin Oaks Church.
