Travis Kelce spikes first pitch before Seattle-Cleveland game at Progressive Field

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, a former University of Cincinnati Bearcats standout and Cleveland Heights native, was accompanied by his mother, Donna, as he threw out the ceremonial first pitch before the Cleveland Guardians' game Friday against the Seattle Mariners at Progressive Field.

It wasn't former Cincinnati Mayor Mark Mallory bad. But it wasn't good either.

Kelce spiked the pitch into the grass, well short of Guardians pitcher Shane Bieber. The pitch didn't even reach the large circle of dirt that surrounds the batter's box. He rushed toward home and hugged Bieber.

On a recent episode of his "New Heights" podcast with his brother, fellow former UC standout Jason, Travis failed to recognize or name Bengals head coach Zac Taylor.
