The 2021 NBA draft is now a week away, and that means Florida’s lengthy draft drought is about to come to a close. The Gators haven’t had a player drafted since Erik Murphy in 2013, and you have to go back another year to find their last first-round pick in Bradley Beal.

This year, it’s very possible UF gets two players selected. Both point guard Tre Mann and shooting guard Scottie Lewis were invited to the NBA combine, but only Mann is projected to be a first-round pick. He’s seen a lot of variation in his projections, with some thinking he’ll be taken near the tail end of the lottery while others have him falling toward the end of the round.

Lewis is considered a fringe draft prospect, but it’s very likely the talented former five-star recruit will hear his name called in the second round. Both get picked in this full two-round mock from Rookie Wire, and here’s where they land.

Tre Mann - Los Angeles Lakers (22nd overall)

Sanjesh Singh: Los Angeles has three guards entering free agency: Dennis Schroder, Alex Caruso and Talen Horton-Tucker. It’s unlikely all three will return because of financial constraints, but, fortunately, the Lakers should have enticing options with guards at this spot. Tre Mann took a gigantic leap with Florida this season. He’s a 40-percent 3-point shooter on solid volume and can hurt you with a deep bag of tricks in his arsenal. The Lakers need more capable scoring options who don’t rely on LeBron James and Anthony Davis — Mann is perfect and can be polished even more. He also reportedly grew two inches and put on 15 pounds of muscle as a sophomore.

Mann would be a fantastic pickup here for the Lakers. He's exactly the kind of backcourt scorer the team needs to join James and Davis in order to help Los Angeles get back to title contention in 2021-22. A combo guard who can create his own shots, he'd be an excellent fit in Los Angeles.

Scottie Lewis - New Orleans Pelicans (43rd overall)

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Jacob Rude: Lewis has limitations as a shooter but his 7-foot-0 wingspan, defensive talent and athleticism all should help him find minutes.

Lewis never developed into the player Florida hoped he would be when he signed, but there's still a lot to like here in a project player in the second round. Lewis is an absurd athlete and he was dominant on the defensive end both years at Florida, though his play dipped slightly as a sophomore. He never figured the scoring out in college, and he'll need to improve a lot in that regard to succeed at the next level. The Pelicans are a team with decent backcourt starters in Lonzo Ball and Eric Bledsoe, but they could use some more depth. Lewis would provide a high-ceiling option in the second round.
