Treasure Coast high school sports scores for the week of Dec. 12-17

Boys Soccer

Vero Beach 2, St. Edward's 1: Hayden Gibbons netted the match winner in the 97th minute to send Vero Beach (2-3-2) to the championship of the Indian River Cup.

In the second 10-minute extra time session, a deflected ball was looped toward the Pirate goal and Gibbons was the first to react to it. After controlling the ball, the senior was able to break in clean on goal and tucked the shot into the left corner of the goal.

Gibbons' winner concluded a fierce battle between the two Indian River County programs who didn't give in to each other the entire match.

After a goalless first half, Vero broke through in the 61st minute. After a St. Edward's handball just outside of the box, Vero Beach junior Eli Perez ripped a shot that flew into the Pirate net via a slight deflection.

10 minutes later, the Pirates (7-1-1) found the equalizer as Brogan Buck lofted a ball into the box off a free kick and after a scramble in front of goal, freshman William Kourakis pounced and found the back of the net to make it 1-1.

Vero Beach advanced to Saturday's championship match where they will take on rival Sebastian River at 3:00 p.m.

St. Edward's, who began the season with five straight wins, will take on Master's Academy in the third-place game at 1:30 p.m.

Sebastian River 3, Master's Academy 1: First half goals from Osiel Bedolla, Christopher Espinoza and Sergio Magdaleno send the Sharks (3-2-2) to the championship match of the Indian River Cup.

Bedolla rocketed a long-range effort in the sixth minute into the back of the net to put his team ahead early.

13 minutes later, Espinoza doubled Sebastian River’s lead as his shot from inside the box wriggled home to make it 2-0.

In the 28th minute, Magdaleno was the recipient of a perfect cross in from the left by Conner Wunderlich and the sophomore headed home the Sharks’ third goal of the first half.

The Patriots (1-3) got on the board five minutes before halftime as senior Jason Flaming laced a free kick just outside the box with his left foot to perfection into the Shark goal.

Sebastian River takes on Vero Beach in the championship match while Master’s Academy battles St. Edward’s in the third place match.

Centennial 5, Port St. Lucie 0: Kaelen Vilarson scored two goals and assisted on another to lead the way for the Eagles (8-2). Eddie Stephaniac and Chris Djambazian each had a goal and an assist, Diego Castillo also hit the back of the net, Ramiro Games picked up one assist and Jorge Rojas made five saves in goal to hold a clean sheet for Centennial.

Boys Basketball

South Fork 57, Okeechobee 43: Loghan Downie and Nate Moffitt each scored 12 points to pace the Bulldogs (6-2) in the victory. Imarion Stanberry added nine points and Nick Chang chipped in seven points for South Fork.

James Jaspar scored 12 points and Oliver Saunders added 10 points in the loss for the Brahmans (5-5).

Thursday’s scores

Girls Basketball

Jensen Beach 38, Martin County 33: Elizabeth Fitzwater scored a game-high 13 points to send the Falcons (8-1) to a win over their county rivals. Kiosha Smith added 12 points, seven rebounds and four steals and Lauren Cioffi scored seven points and added 12 rebounds and four steals for Jensen Beach.

Amanda Gumina scored nine points, Becca Witt added eight points and Katelyn Tanis chipped in seven points in the loss for the Tigers (8-2).

Boys Basketball

Centennial 78, Jupiter 77 (3OT): Ty Owens scored 29 of his 32 points after halftime to lift the Eagles (6-3) to a thrilling victory.

Treasure Coast 81, Port St. Lucie 60: Tyson Wilson scored 23 points and added nine assists to send the Titans (6-1) to victory. Jacoby Parson added 21 points, Remi Dieujuste scored 18 points and Bek Fleurissaint also scored in double figures with 10 for Treasure Coast.

Ryan Rodriguez scored a game-high 31 points and Mahkari Chambliss added 12 points in the loss for the Jaguars (5-6).

John Carroll Catholic 88, Tradition Prep 41: Tony Colebrook and Caden Johnson each scored 15 points in the win for the Rams (6-1). Alex McFarlane scored 14 points, Wilky Denaud added nine points, seven assists, five rebounds and four steals, Aidan Singleton had nine points and seven assists and Collin Jefferson chipped in nine points and four assists for John Carroll, who hit 12 3-pointers.

Drew Armstrong led the Pirates (5-3) with a game-high 16 points.

Boys Soccer

Jensen Beach 4, South Fork 3: Ryan Leach scored two goals to lead the Falcons (5-1) to victory. Jack James added a goal and two assists, Gavin Harte also hit the scoresheet, Robbie Johnston picked up an assist and Michael Hinson made three saves in goal for Jensen Beach.

Girls Soccer

Martin County 4, South Fork 2: Megan Murphy scored two goals and added an assist to lead the way for the Tigers (6-1-1). Mia Calderon added a goal and an assist, Kacey O’Donnell also hit the scoresheet and Dakota Moberg made eight saves in goal for Martin County, who won their fourth straight match.

Savannah Tatum netted both goals for the Bulldogs (7-3) off a pair of assists from Makena Meyer.

Wednesday’s scores

Girls Basketball

Jensen Beach 43, Treasure Coast 32: Elizabeth Fitzwater scored a game-high 18 pints and added five rebounds and Lauren Cioffi posted a triple-double with 11 points, 17 rebounds and 10 steals to lead the Falcons (7-1). Kiosha Smith added seven points and Aubrey Rasmussen chipped in six points for Jensen Beach.

Jada Parson led the Titans (6-5) with 12 points in the loss.

Lincoln Park Academy 35, South Fork 15: Juliana Ball hit five 3-pointers for 15 points and Ty’Tyannah Thompson added 11 points in the win for the Greyhounds (6-3).

Triniti Crouse scored seven points in the loss for the Bulldogs (2-7).

Boys Soccer

Sebastian River 4, Treasure Coast 3: Danny Garibay, Jose Ojeda, Javier Merions and Santi Nunes all hit the back of the net in the win for the Sharks (3-2-2).

Vero Beach 1, North Broward Prep 1: Samuel Santoro scored off an assist from Vance Mullanack and Oscar Ramirez made six saves in goal to help Vero (1-3-2) earn a draw.

Tuesday’s scores

Boys Basketball

Treasure Coast 61, South Fork 57: Remi Dieujuste scored a game-high 22 points and added eight rebounds to lead the way for the Titans (5-1). Tyler Plagett added 15 points and 10 rebounds and Tyson Wilson scored seven points and dished out nine assists for Treasure Coast.

Justin Beall scored 18 points and Imarion Stanberry added 10 points in the loss for the Bulldogs (5-2).

Centennial 67, Vero Beach 54: Ty Owens scored 15 points and Joesph Lezeau II added 14 points to lead the Eagles (5-3) to victory.

Davonte King scored a game-high 20 points and Derrick Davey added 12 points for Vero.

Port St. Lucie 66, Morningside Academy 52: Ryan Rodriguez scored 25 points to lead the Jaguars to victory. TJ Schuck went for a double-double with 12 points and 16 rebounds to go along with six blocks and Ryan Trevino added 10 points for Port St. Lucie.

Darious Moore scored a game-high 30 points and Damon Folds added 11 points in the loss for the Eagles.

Girls Basketball

Vero Beach 64, Centennial 56: Trailing by 12 at halftime, Vero Beach outscored the Eagles 45-25 including 21-9 in the fourth quarter to earn a road win.

Girls Soccer

South Fork 4, Lincoln Park Academy 2: Makena Meyer netted a pair of goals and picked up an assist to lead the Bulldogs (7-2) to victory. Savannah Tatum added a goal and an assist, Emma Stewart also scored a goal, Cadence Reed picked up one assist and Hailey Resetar made nine saves for South Fork.

Martin County 3, Pine School 1: Camryn Debian, Delaney Gribben and Mia Calderon all hit the back of the net to lead the Tigers (5-1-1) in the win. Kaylin Lingis picked up two assists, Tiana Trahan added an assist and Dakota Moberg stopped 11 shots in goal for Martin County.

Giovanna Waksman scored the lone goal of the match for the Knights (7-1), who got five saves in goal from Justina Southern.

Monday's scores

Girls Basketball

Jensen Beach 36, Sebastian River 28: Lauren Cioffi scored 10 points and grabbed 11 rebounds and Yasmin Newson also scored 10 points to lead the Falcons (6-1) to victory. Elizabeth Fitzwater added seven points and six steals for Jensen Beach.

Fort Pierce Central 50, South Fork 34: Harmoni Randolph scored 19 points and added five rebounds to lead the way for the Cobras (3-6). Aquanis West added 14 points, 12 rebounds and five steals and Chaunciona Davis chipped in eight points for Fort Pierce Central.

Triniti Crouse led the Bulldogs (2-5) with 11 points in the loss.

Lincoln Park Academy 35, Wade Christian 16: Ta'Tyannah Thompson scored a game-high 15 points to lead the Greyhounds (5-3) in the win. Olivia Titherington added eight points and Julianna Ball chipped in seven points for Lincoln Park.

Treasure Coast 44, Somerset College Prep 43: Jada Parson scored 17 points and Reniah Flynn added 12 points to lead the Titans (6-4) to victory. Jenayah Louis added nine points and Samorae Fredrick pitched in six points for Treasure Coast.

Kaeley Ciceron scored a game-high 20 points and Summer Stone added 15 points in the loss for the Spartans (2-3).

Boys Basketball

Martin County 86, Port St. Lucie 43: Elijah Duval scored a game-high 17 points to pace the Tigers (5-3). Cam Insalaco added 13 points and Parker Olson and Max Schellenberg each scored 11 points for Martin County.

Ryan Rodriguez led the Jaguars with 13 points.

Boys Soccer

Centennial 4, South Fork 1: Kaelen Vilarson netted a hat trick and assisted on another goal as the Eagles (7-2) snapped a two-game losing streak. Ramiro Gamez picked up the other goal in the match for Centennial, who had Chris Djambazian, Eddie Stephaniac and Lashley Laurent tally assists and Jorge Rojas made three saves in goal.

Girls Soccer

Jensen Beach 2, South Fork 1: Kate Frawley and Ariell Rivas each had a goal and an assist to lead the way for the Falcons (3-4). Nikollete Sossie made seven saves in goal for Jensen Beach.

Makena Meyer netted the lone goal in the loss for the Bulldogs (6-2) and Hailey Resetar made eight saves for South Fork.

John Carroll Catholic 3, Okeechobee 3: Carly Kooman scored two goals and Katelyn Cristaldi added a goal and an assist in the draw for the Rams (2-5-1). Irelynd Dempsey picked up an assist for John Carroll.
