Brevard HEAT d. St. Edward’s 25-18, 25-22, 25-17, 27-25, 15-11: The top seed in the District 8-2A championship won the final two sets to claim the championship led by 19 kills from Catherine Bennett and 38 assists from Jeslyn Holder.

The Pirates (12-6) will await Saturday’s bracket release by the FHSAA at 7 p.m. to see if they earn an at-large berth in Region 2-2A.

Fort Pierce Central d. Palm Beach Gardens 24-26, 25-16, 25-23, 25-23: Kailani Zezas had 24 kills and 24 digs to lead the Cobras (18-8) to the District 7-7A championship match. Sydney Corbett had 17 kills and eight digs, Kadiann Perry had nine digs and five kills, Ivy Cooper had 22 digs, 20 assists, eight kills and four aces, Katie Rose Wohlbold added 16 digs and six assists and Azlyn Bass collected 27 assists, 14 digs and five kills for Fort Pierce Central, who takes on Jupiter at 7 p.m. Thursday.

South Fork d. Martin County 25-20, 25-13, 23-25, 25-20: Aubrey Scammell had a career-high 14 kills and 12 blocks to help the Bulldogs (16-10) reach the District 8-6A championship match. Alli Bowser had a team-high 19 kills and added nine digs and five aces, Cloe Follwell had seven kills and five digs, Marley Navaretta had 12 digs and Kailee Armbruster had 10 digs for South Fork, who will take on Viera at 6 p.m. Thursday.

Tuesday's scores

Cross Country

Three area runners finished in the top three of the races at Tuesday’s District 7-2A meet in Boca Raton at South County Regional Park led by Jensen Beach senior Nicholas Colbert’s runner-up finish in the boys’ race.

Colbert ran a personal best time of 15:48.20 to qualify for the Region 3-2A meet taking place Oct. 27.

Fellow Falcon senior Justin Cannata took third in the boys’ race running a time of 16:20 to also earn his spot to regionals.

Lincoln Park Academy sophomore Jacey Lane took third in the girls’ race, running a personal best time of 19:12.60 to earn her spot to regionals.

Volleyball

Jensen Beach d. Fort Pierce Westwood 25-6, 25-13, 25-7: Raegan Richardson had 12 assists and six kills as the Falcons (23-3) advanced to the District 13-5A title match.

Lindsay Walch had seven aces and five kills, Lauren Duke had nine assists and five kills, Haley Handlen and Catherine Hamilton each had four kills, Lilly Parr and Sophia Martin each had three kills, Dakota Deluise had three aces and Kate Parr had 11 assists for Jensen Beach, who will host Okeechobee at 7 p.m. on Thursday.

Fort Pierce Central d. Palm Beach Lakes 25-6, 25-4, 25-6: Sydney Corbett had 11 kills to lead the Cobras (17-8) to the District 7-7A semifinals. Kailani Zezas had eight kills and seven aces, Kadiann Perry had seven kills, Delaney Bolbach had five kills, Ivy Cooper had nine aces and eight assists, Katie Rose Wohlbold had four aces, Alyssa Llanos had 10 assists and Azlyn Bass had 14 assists for Fort Pierce Central, who will host Palm Beach Gardens on Wednesday.

Vero Beach d. Centennial 25-23, 25-14, 25-20: Madison Gravlee had 19 kills, Kaleigh Becton had 10 digs and Ellie Smith totaled 27 assists to lead Vero Beach (9-15) to the District 7-7A semifinals where they will take on top-seed Jupiter on Wednesday.

St. Edward's d. Merritt Island Christian 25-19, 25-21, 25-17: Kelly Barnett had 17 kills, 13 digs and four blocks to lead the Pirates (12-5) advanced to Friday's District 8-2A championship match. Taylor Wolfe had six kills, CJ Fykes had 14 digs and four kills, Meagan Baker had five kills and three blocks, Makena Rodriguez had 13 digs, Natalee Rogers had 12 digs and Eliotte Kahler totaled 30 assists, 16 digs and four aces for St. Edward's, who will play Brevard HEAT at 7 p.m.

Monday's scores

Girls Golf

Pine School senior Brianna Castaldi was the only player to shoot under par at Monday's Treasure Lake Conference Championship, carding a 1-under 71 at Meadowood Golf and Tennis Club in Fort Pierce.

Castaldi made four birdies and shot a back nine 35 to grab the top spot.

Lincoln Park Academy sophomore Abby Smith took second with a 5-over 77 and St. Edward’s freshman Olivia Stovall was third with a 7-over 79.

Vero Beach won the team title with a total of 332 with four players in the top 11 led by freshman Darci Wagner’s 80 and Dounia Bezzari’s 82.

Jensen Beach was second with a total of 346 led by Chloe Sebuck’s 83.

Volleyball

Martin County d. Sebastian River 25-19, 20-25, 25-12, 25-14: Grace Lee and Elisabeth Collier each had 10 kills to lead the Tigers (15-11) to the District 8-6A semifinals. Lee added 13 digs, Andrea Ritter had six kills and 18 digs, Julia Glasco had six aces, Layali Ibrahim had 11 assists and Katelyn Bobo added 22 assists and eight digs for Martin County, who will take on South Fork on Wednesday.

South Fork d. Port St. Lucie 25-7, 25-7, 25-6: Alli Bowser had 13 kills and three aces and Cloe Follwell added nine kills to lead the Bulldogs (15-10) to Wednesday’s District 8-6A semifinal where they’ll face Martin County. Ryan Connelly had seven kills, Aubrey Scammell added six aces, Marley Navaretta had nine digs and three aces and Brynn Burgk collected 18 assists for South Fork.

St. Edward’s d. Morningside Academy 26-24, 25-21, 25-11: The Pirates (11-5) advanced to Wednesday’s District 8-2A semifinal against Merritt Island Christian.
