TreeHouse: 2Q Earnings Snapshot

OAK BROOK, Ill. (AP) _ TreeHouse Foods Inc. (THS) on Thursday reported a loss of $171.8 million in its second quarter.

The Oak Brook, Illinois-based company said it had a loss of $3.05 per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 36 cents per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 29 cents per share.

The food maker posted revenue of $1.25 billion in the period, which did not meet Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.3 billion.

For the current quarter ending in October, TreeHouse expects its per-share earnings to range from 52 cents to 62 cents.

The company said it expects revenue in the range of $1.04 billion to $1.14 billion for the fiscal third quarter.

TreeHouse expects full-year earnings in the range of $2.33 to $2.63 per share.

TreeHouse shares have climbed 17% since the beginning of the year. The stock has risen 25% in the last 12 months.
