Tremendous 10 poll returns with full slate of winter athletes

The Tremendous 10 poll had the week off coming off the Thanksgiving break but returns with a vengeance this week as athletes of winter sports grab all the nominations for the first time. The poll will be open until noon on Friday.

Auburndale senior Peyton Battilla (girls soccer) scored three goals and added an assist against Lake Gibson. For the season through three games, she is tied for the team lead with five goals and leads the team with four assists and 14 points.

Frostproof senior Andrew Garcia (boys soccer), in his first week with the team after his football season ended, scored six goals and added two assist in three games.

Fort Meade junior Emmanuel Beltran (boys soccer) scored three goals in the Miners' 3-0 victory over Ridgeview Global then had three assists in their 8-1 win over Haines City. For the season, he is second on the team with five goals, four assists and 14 points.

Lakeland freshman Lauren Jordan (girls basketball) had 23 points, nine rebounds and nine steals in a win over Victory Christian. She then had 19 points, 10 rebounds and seven steals in a victory over Ridge Community as she led the Dreadnaughts to their second and third wins of the season. Through five games, she is averaging 20.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, 7.2 steals and 2.8 assists.

Auburndale senior Ja'kiya Henry (girls basketball) had  double-double a loss to Lake Region. She scored 15 points and added 12 rebounds and five steals. For the season, she is averaging 13.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 3.7 steals.

Victory Christian junior guard Lorenzo Cason (boys basketball) averaged 24.7 points, 7.0 rebounds and 5.0 points in three wins. He also surpassed 1,000 career points during the week.

Bartow sophomore center Dariasia Pitts (girls basketball) scored 23 points and added 11 rebounds and four steals in the Yellow Jackets' two-point loss to George Jenkins. For the season, Pitts is averaging 16.9 points and 8.4 rebounds.

Victory Christian junior Gaby Figueroa (girls soccer) had one goal and one assist in back-to-back matches, a 3-0 win over Davenport and an 8-0 win over Tenoroc. Through six games, she has four goals and three assists.

Discovery junior Willie Wilson (boys basketball) 29 points in a win over Haines City to end the week, and he 19 points in a win over Lake Gibson at the beginning of the week. For the season, Wilson is averaging 21.7 points.

George Jenkins junior Maddox Harold (boys basketball) scored 12 points with three rebounds and two assists in a loss to Santa Fe Catholic then scored 16 points with three assists and a steal in a win over Sebring. Through three games, he is averaging 14.3
