We took a data-driven look at the question, using Yelp to deduce which restaurants have been getting a noteworthy increase in attention this month.

To find out who made the list, we looked at Atlanta businesses on Yelp by category and counted how many reviews each received. Rather than compare them based on number of reviews alone, we calculated a percentage increase in reviews over the past month, and tracked businesses that consistently increase their volume of reviews to identify statistically significant outliers compared to past performance.

Open since 2019, this beer bar, wine bar and New American spot is trending compared to other businesses categorized as "American (New)" on Yelp.

Citywide, New American spots saw a median 1.7 percent increase in new reviews over the past month, but Boxcar saw a noteworthy 128.6 percent increase, with a slight downward trend from a 4.5-star rating a month ago to four stars today.

Little Alley Steak - Buckhead

Whether or not you've been hearing buzz about Little Alley Steak - Buckhead, the steakhouse and bar is a hot topic according to Yelp review data.

While businesses categorized as "Bars" on Yelp saw a median 2.5 percent increase in new reviews over the past month, Little Alley Steak - Buckhead bagged a 7.1 percent increase in new reviews within that timeframe, maintaining a mixed 3.5-star rating.

The soul food and Southern spot, which offers desserts and more at 1133 Huff Road NW, Suite D, increased its new review count by 4.7 percent over the past month, an outlier when compared to the median new review count of 1.7 percent for the Yelp category "Southern."

Twisted Soul Cookhouse & Pours, which has four stars from 381 reviews on Yelp, offers fried chicken, pimento cheese grit casserole, black-eyed peas and more.
