Things didn't start out great for Trevor Lawrence on Thursday night against the Jets.

Lawrence was sacked on the third play of the game, fumbling the ball away to the Jets at the 29-yard line.

The defense held the Jets to a field goal, and Lawrence played efficient, mistake-free football after that in a 19-3 win over the Jets.

Lawrence finished 20-for-31 for 229 yards and no passing touchdowns, adding 51 yards on the ground and a 1-yard score, the only touchdown of the game for either team.

For the second consecutive season, the Jaguars and Jets met in East Rutherford, N.J., in Week 15.

In the 2021 edition, the first overall pick in the draft met the second overall pick in the draft, as No. 2 pick Zach Wilson outdueled No. 1 pick Trevor Lawrence.

Lawrence had 280 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions.

Wilson had a lackluster 102 yards, but along with a passing touchdown, he had an electric 52-yard touchdown run that sank the Jaguars at home.

Wilson was nowhere near as effective in the 2022 game, getting benched in the third quarter for Chris Streveler.

Meanwhile, the Jaguars won for the fourth time in five game and remained in the playoff hunt with two games left on the season.

As for Lawrence, he surpassed his passing total for all of 2021 (3,641 yards), now totaling 3,747 with two games left.

If you took the Vegas odds of Lawrence throwing for more than 4,000 yards on the season, your bet is starting to look pretty good.

Here are how his numbers compare from 2021 to 2022.
