Trevor Lawrence owes his defense bigtime.

After an up-and-down game for the second-year quarterback, Rayshawn Jenkins picked off Dak Prescott in overtime and returned the ball 51 yards for the game-winning touchdown.

Lawrence had a solid outing, going 27-for-42 for 318 yards, four touchdowns, an interception and a lost fumble.

It's the third time in four games he's thrown for more than 300 yards. The four touchdowns in one game are a career-high.

Lawrence made two mistakes in an otherwise solid effort, but his defense bailed him out both times.

With just under two minutes left to play in the game, Lawrence escaped a sack and ran for a first down, but rather than sliding down, he tried to spin for more yards, got hit and fumbled the ball away to the Cowboys with 1:34 to play.

The Jaguars' defense forced a three-and-out, and gave Lawrence and the offense got one more shot. The team got to within a 48-yard field goal, which Riley Patterson nailed to send the game to overtime.

His first mistake was a bad interception with 6:35 to play in the third quarter and the Jaguars trailing 24-10, but it seemed to flip a switch in Lawrence.

Lawrence led the Jaguars' offense on three consecutive touchdown drives after the pick. The third TD gave the Jaguars their first lead of the day, 31-27.

After the offense stalled in overtime with the first possession, Jenkins saved the day and sent the Jaguars to their second comeback victory in as many weeks.

Here's how Lawrence's seasons compare from 2021 and 2022.
