Trey Hendrickson's hit on Andy Dalton extends Saints' scoring drive against Bengals

Andy Dalton and the Saints had a 3rd-and-25 at the New Orleans 23-yard line early in the third quarter of Sunday's Week 6 game, and a nine-yard game came up short of the first down.
The Saints likely would have punted, but a roughing-the-passer penalty called against Bengals defensive end Trey Hendrickson for a hit on Dalton gave New Orleans a new set of downs at their 47-yard line.
"Just a heartbreak. That's just a killer," CBS color analyst Adam Archuleta said of Hendrickson's penalty.
"Trey keeps looking at the replay," play-by-play announcer Greg Gumbel added. "That's not gonna change the call."
Social media reactions:
Regardless of what all of us, the players, etc. think of the roughing the passer call right now, it is what it is. They are going to call it nearly every time even if it's subjective. That's on the players to understand that, similar to how everyone had to get over taunting

In all seriousness, this is the worst game I've seen the Bengals play defensively since I started covering this team before the start of last season

Personal foul roughing the passer called on Trey Hendrickson bails the Saints out

Roughing the passer on 3rd and 25 on Trey Hendrickson.
This game has featured some of the worst mental mistakes the Bengals have had in a while.— Charlie Goldsmith (@CharlieG__) October 16, 2022
Andy Dalton's run to daylight wiped out by hold and now wiped out by a ridiculous roughing the passer call on Hendrickson. Embarrassing call. Hendrickson can just laugh on the sideline.
