Tri Kappa Knightstown Chapter news

Dec. 8—KNIGHTSTOWN — The Alpha Zeta Chapter of Kappa Kappa Kappa in Knightstown has been busy this fall.

Tri Kappa Alpha Zeta Chapter completed our first annual grant cycle where we awarded not-for-profit organizations located in or serving the Charles A. Beard School Corporation District. This area contains but is not limited to the following geographical locations: Carthage, Greensboro, Kennard and Knightstown.

Proposals were reviewed by a committee made up of Tri Kappa Alpha Zeta chapter members.

The top three organizations were invited to the October regular business meeting to present to the entire chapter before the chapter voted.

The Carthage Lion's Club was awarded $4,000 for their proposal to make improvements to the Carthage Community Playground. The Cary Center in Knightstown, Indiana was awarded $500 to support an after-school art program.

The Knightstown Public Library was awarded $500 to help improve digital literacy in the community.

Please be on the lookout in May 2024 for next year's grant application for your organization to apply.

Tri Kappa sisters and real-life sisters channeled their inner Sanderson sisters for Knightstown's Trunk or Treat in October: Miki Cole, Danielle Carmichael, and their sister Maribeth Wooldridge represented Tri Kappa at this year's trunk or treat.

Tri Kappa Alpha Zeta Chapter made almost 2,000 cheese balls in November and contributions went directly to our philanthropy fund to help support our education scholarships for spring 2024.

Tri Kappa Alpha Zeta Chapter is gearing up for Christmas. The chapter is shopping for 61 families (129 individuals) this year for the Knightstown Cheer Guild. This is the most we have shopped for thus far. Be on the lookout for our Tri Kappa Christmas Tree on display at Christmas at the Knightstown Academy Building.
