The following cancellations and delays have been announced for Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024, due to inclement weather.

Postponements and cancellations

  • Due to the amount of snow and ice from the storm, trash and recycling collections might be delayed. Hagerstown city residents are instructed to leave trash and recycling set out at the curb to be collected. Clear a path in the snow from the street to your trash or recycling tote and make sure trash bags are visible and not buried in snow.   • The starting time for the Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024, Washington County Board of County Commissioners meeting is 11 a.m.

  • Forty West Landfill, 12630 Earth Care Road, Hagerstown, will open on time Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024. The transfer station at 6502 Hess Road, Hancock is currently without power. This transfer station will remain closed until the power issue is resolved. All other transfer stations remain open.   • The HARC meeting for Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024, has been cancelled, due to inclement weather.

  • All Blue Ridge Community and Technical College campus activities and in person classes are cancelled Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024, due to road conditions. Remote work/online instruction continue as scheduled. Critical Operations report to supervisor.

  • Due to inclement weather, Franklin County Government and Court offices will delay opening until 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024. Essential personnel should report to work as scheduled. Personnel with a start time which is the same or later than 10:30 a.m. will report at their scheduled time. To hear information on weather-related announcements, county employees may call 717-264-4125.

  • Greencastle-Antrim (Pa.) School District buildings will be closed Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024. This will be a flexible instruction day (FID) for students. Assignments will be posted by 9 a.m.

  • Berkeley County (W.Va.) schools, PreK-12, are closed Tuesday, Feb. 13, due to inclement weather. Evening activities are cancelled.

  • Washington County Circuit Court opens at 10 a.m., with dockets beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024. All jurors have been cancelled for today.

  • Washington County District Court will open at 10 a.m.; staff report at 9:30 a.m.; dockets will begin at 10 a.m.

  • Due to the inclement weather, Saint Joseph School, Martinsburg, W.Va. is closed Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024.

  • Liberal leave is in effect for all non-essential Washington County Government employees all day due to the inclement weather. Essential personnel are expected to fulfill their duties as usual. Today's Board of County Commissioner's Meeting will be delayed until 11 a.m. For additional information, contact Washington County's Public Relations and Marketing Department at 240-313-2380.

  • Due to inclement weather, Frederick (Md.) Community College will delay opening to 11 a.m. on Feb. 13.  Classes prior to 11 a.m. are cancelled.

  • Due to inclement weather conditions, Mount St. Mary's University's campuses in Emmitsburg, Md. and Frederick, Md., as well as the ARCC and the National Shrine Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes will open at 10 a.m.

  • Washington County Public Schools are closed Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024; WCPS employees - Code Orange.

  • All Chambersburg Area (Pa.) School District schools are closed Tuesday.

  • The Waynesboro Area (Pa.) School District will be closed on Tuesday. WASD will operate on a FID day. All learners K-12 will receive instruction from their teachers based on the FID day schedule provided by your building principal. There will be synchronous and asynchronous expectations.

  • Tuscarora (Pa.) School District schools are closed Tuesday.
