PLEASANTON, CA — The sixth annual Tri-Valley Turkey Burn will not take place in-person this year, but runners are welcome to participate in the virtual race.
The Pleasanton North Rotary Club and Foundation said it made the decision to call off the run this year due to COVID-19 regulations. In years past, the event has drawn more than 2,000 runners.
Virtual participants are welcome to join in any activity of their choosing on Thanksgiving weekend, with options for a 5K, 10K or any distance, organizers said.
The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for youth and free for kids 10 years or younger. Participants will receive a Turkey Burn 2020 T-shirt, "I am thankful for..." bib, finisher medal and Turkey Burn mask, organizers said.
Participants are invited to post photos of their bibs and share what they're thankful for this year.
