DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The trial for one of the suspects in a capital murder case will take place in August.

Philip Barkley is one of three suspects charged in the death of 50-year-old Christina Moore.

She was shot to death while she was sleeping in her home on South Lena Street that was back in September 2020.

With there being a lot of co-defendants in the case, the state wants to have Barkley’s trial after Ty’shauwn Bryant’s trial they say he is the main co-defendant in the case.

Both the defense and the state agreed to have a trial date after Bryant’s.

Now another status conference will take place on June 26th and then Barkley’s trial date will be set after the conference within the next month.

A date has not officially been set in August.
