Trilogy Health breaks ground on elder care center in Lancaster

LANCASTER − Trilogy Health Services is bringing a senior living facility to Lancaster with a new location on 1495 Granville Pike.

Construction for Trilogy's new Lancaster location began with a groundbreaking event on Wednesday morning. Speakers at the event included City of Lancaster Mayor David Scheffler, Lancaster-Fairfield County Chamber President Travis Markwood, and Dean of Campus and Community Relations at Ohio University-Lancaster Jarrod Tudor, and Division Vice President for Trilogy Angela McCord.

According to McCord, this senior living facility is set to open in early 2024 and will host a bevy of services for seniors in their care.

"Our two-story campus is expected to open in early 2024 and will offer a continuum of care, including senior independent living, assisted living, short term skilled nursing and rehabilitation, memory care, long term care, and adult day care services," said McCord.

In addition to these services, this senior community will be a licensed provider of the Best Friends Approach to Dementia Care. This approach to caregiving promotes empathy, understanding, and positivity.

With a focus on food and fun, Trilogy's new senior center will prioritize making their community an attractive place to live.

With 113 total units expected to be available, that is the number of seniors that McCord and Trilogy expect to be able to serve at a time

"At a full capacity it would be 113 seniors," said McCord.

Trilogy Health Services chose to bring a location to Lancaster by looking at the demographic need in the community.

"They look at demographic need," said Stephanie Duke of Startup Business Devlopment at Trilogy Health Services. "Seeing there was a need in the community as far as what seniors to serve and the different populations that they have. Then secondly, looking at the land."

Duke said that Trilogy is looking forward to building a future in Lancaster with the community. At the end of Duke's speech, the speakers broke ground and officially kicked off construction as they work towards their goal of opening in early 2024.
