If you've got Trinidadian cuisine on the mind, a recent opening is need-to-know. The new addition to Capitol Hill, called Cane, is located at 403 H St. NE.

This new business specializes in the street foods of Trinidad and Tobago offered by chef Peter Prime. On the menu, expect to see items like grilled and marinated oxtails and deep-fried whole snapper, plus chutneys, chow and sauces. Rum cocktails, a house specialty, are also on offer.

With a five-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp so far, Cane has been warmly received by patrons.

David K., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on April 24, wrote, "The jerk wings are epic. ... Also super were the 'doubles,' which have curried chickpeas on fried bread and a 'curry tower' with five bowls of different curried dishes."

Yelper Nisha P. added, "The staff was incredibly nice and the food was so good. The five-spice drums were awesome."

Head on over to check it out: Cane is open from 5–10 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. (It's closed on Tuesday and Sunday.)
