Trinity Prep OL Cole Best commits to USF

The relief for Trinity Prep offensive lineman Cole Best was immense after he committed to USF Friday.

“It’s a tremendous weight off my shoulders,” Best said. “It’s great to know that I’m locked in and know where I’m going and just be done with it. Everything with COVID made the entire process a lot harder, not being able to go on official visits and not being able to meet these coaches.

“I’m committing to a school where I haven’t even met the coaches face-to-face yet, but just based on the relationships we’ve built I’m extremely happy about it. I’m fired up and I can’t wait to get there.”

He’s the first Football Bowl Subdivision commitment from Trinity Prep since Michael Kalaman, who signed with Rutgers in 2012. UCF took a pair of preferred walk-ons out of Trinity Prep recently and tight ends Max and Alec Holler remain on the roster.
