Trinity Presbyterian defeats Piedmont 6-5 to even AHSAA Class 3A series; Game 3 scheduled

JACKSONVILLE — Trinity Presbyterian used big innings in the first and third innings to overcome a late comeback from Piedmont in Game two the AHSAA Class 3A state championship and send the championship series to a third game.

Game three is scheduled for 1 p.m., with the winner winning the series and the state championship.

A coin toss will determined Piedmont is the home team for the deciding game

TRINITY: It's been smooth sailing for Trinity baseball under first-year head coach Jarrod Cook

Trinity (32-7) scored two runs in the first and four in the third. Piedmont (36-6) scored three runs in the top of the fifth inning to cut the lead to one.

Fleming Hall picked up the win for the Wildcats and Brodie Homesley got the loss.
