The Campbell Fire, burning in Humboldt and Trinity counties, is part of the 2022 SRF Lightning Complex that's being managed by Six Rivers National Forest. The fires started Friday after thunderstorms moved across the forest.

"We are making good progress on a few of the fires, but there are several that are challenging to address," Six Rivers officials said.

"We are working to keep them as small as possible and still working on keeping them out of the larger community centers and from growing together to the extent that is safe and reasonably possible," officials said.

Incident Management Team 11, led by Commander Christopher Fogle, will take command of the Six Rivers Lightning Complex at 6 p.m. Sunday, officials said.
