Trio indicted in robbery spree in Union and Essex
ELIZABETH - Three men, two from Union County and one from Essex County, have been indicted in connection with a robbery spree in Linden, Elizabeth and Orange, and a carjacking.
Isaiah Barrett, 33, of Elizabeth, Alfred Pierre, 37, of Roselle and Daron Thomas, 32, of East Orange were named Wednesday in four separate indictments encompassing 56 counts, including robbery, carjacking and firearms possession, all first-degree crimes, Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel announced.
According to the prosecutor's office, Barrett, Pierre and Thomas began a month-long crime spree beginning on Dec. 15, 2022 in Roselle. They allegedly committed robberies on Dec. 26 in Linden, Jan. 2 in Elizabeth and Jan. 4 in Orange.
On Jan. 8 in Linden, Barrett and Thomas allegedly committed both a robbery and a carjacking, according to Union County Assistant Prosecutor Melissa Caparruva, who is handling the case.
An investigation by Linden Detectives Juan Velarde and Nicole Andrews, Roselle Detective Aaron Silva, Elizabeth Detective Herbert Gonzalez, Orange Detective Jada Gonzalez and Union County Prosecutor's Office Detective William Hannon led to the identification of the three men and their arrest in April.

They remain incarcerated in the Essex County Jail pending their formal arraignment.
“I want to assure the public that the Union County Prosecutor’s Office and our partner law enforcement agencies remain committed to tirelessly pursuing those who threaten the safety and security of the communities we serve”, Daniel stated.
